Drought, bushfires, floods and now COVID-19 – it has had an impact on all of us. We have taken all of these circumstances into account in reviewing and restructuring our 2021 Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program to meet the challenges of the “new normal”.
it is now more than ever that we need to nurture our emerging leaders. At a local level, community members are collectively looking for enhanced and structured leadership, in the form of practical and strategic thinking, collaboration, direction, planning, wisdom, and local knowledge. Our annual leadership program creates competent and well-equipped leaders who understand what it takes to lead in a regional environment.
Ask yourself, do you:
- Care for your community and want to make a difference?
- Want to be connected to the people that lead our North East Victorian communities?
- Want to meet like-minded people and make rewarding new friendships?
- Seek out new and collaborative ways to support and develop our region?
Then the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program is most definitely for you
Our 2021 Annual Program includes a new Community Projects component, providing an opportunity for experiential learning, where knowledge is acquired through actual actions and practice, and participants apply the learnings they derive from the program. Furthermore, each community project will be focused upon the objective of achieving measurable outcomes that provide benefits to the region, in alignment with the Ovens Murray Regional Partnership Strategic Plan.
Another new facet of our 2021 Annual Program has come about through a collaborative effort between all Victorian Regional Leadership Programs, with the establishment of a common learning and development framework. The framework will act as a guide for the development, delivery, and evaluation of our Annual Program, with a focus upon achieving quality and consistency amongst all Victorian programs. We are proud of our contribution to the development of this framework, and that AVCL participants will benefit from our high standard of learning that we can now hold to account at a state level.
Although this year has been challenging, the opportunities for growth, recovery and renewal are rich; we at AVCL are enthusiastic about our part in forging the way ahead. Applications for our 2021 Annual Program opened on Monday 3rd August, with a number of scholarships made available for eligible candidates through our generous funding partners.
Note that applications can be made via our online application form, or by downloading the hard copy application form, both of which will be made available as of August 3. Applications will then close at close of business, Sunday 20th September.
