“Rural Australia needs strong leadership in order to develop thriving, connected and resilient communities”
Alumni Impact
A community that grows local leadership and invests in its future leaders demonstrates a vibrant and sustainable region. That is what we have across the Ovens-Murray Region of North East Victoria, cultivated and sustained through the Alumni of the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Annual Program (AVCLP).
The AVCLP creates competent and well-equipped leaders who understand what it takes to lead in a regional environment. The program was conceived in 1998, with the Alumni body consisting of over 500 graduates by the end of 2023.
To understand and document the impact of leadership contributions by AVCLP Alumni in their communities and workplaces, an Alumni Survey was developed in 2021. The survey was designed to capture impact and outcomes in line with the state-wide Monitoring Evaluation Reporting and Improvement (MERI) evaluation framework, as has been adopted by Victorian Regional Community Leadership Programs. The report distils high-level metrics that quantify the leadership contributions of Alumni in both community and workplace settings.
