Why Community Leadership?

AVCL is a civic development organisation that develops leaders for leadership impact, with the express purpose of making progress on complex economic, social and environmental challenges facing our community.

We partner with government, community and business organisations to find new solutions to varied and systemic challenges.

We promote leadership development in a rural context, developing leaders who understand what it takes to lead in a regional environment.

Many of our alumni are active mentors, supporting young people as well as established leaders. Almost all do so in a voluntary capacity.

Our alumni also actively participate in community consultations, think tanks and advisory panels, supporting public policy on a wide variety of topics, bringing innovative and diverse thinking to complex issues.
