Our Programs
We deliver a diverse range of programs to build community capacity in the communities of place and interest across our region. Current programs include:
We are best known for our flagship Annual Program (AVCLP) which has an active alumni network of nearly 500. In 2023, we developed an impact report that demonstrates the long term outcomes of investment in community leadership in the Ovens Murray region over the last 25 years.
In addition to the Annual Program, AVCL has successfully facilitated a range of programs and workshops that support strengthening community capacity across a range of focus areas, including Disaster Recovery and Climate Change Adaptation, Drought Preparedness, Community Recovery, Volunteer Sustainability and LGBTIQA+ Diversity and Inclusion. These initiatives build the leadership capacities required for community members to be effective in this space.
To ensure our programs meet the needs of participants and other stakeholders, we engage with place-based stakeholders before, during and after each program to ensure the program is inclusive and fit for purpose, and considers the needs of participants and the communities in which they operate. Stakeholders include community groups and committees, not for profits, local government organisations, and state government departments.
