The Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Annual Program (AVCLP) has been providing leadership development opportunities for North East and Border communities since 1998, with an Alumni base of over 500 graduates. Thank you for applying to participate in our 2027 program.

Application Process

• Applications open in early August 2026.
• Applications will now close 18 October 2026, unless otherwise agreed upon.
• Please complete the web-form application (preferred), or submit a completed hard copy application to leaders@avclp.org.au.
• Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel and shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
• Interviews will take place via Zoom during October 2026.
• Applicants will be notified of the outcome in mid-November 2026.
• The program will commence in February 2027.
• Successful applicants will be required to attend the Program Launch and Opening Retreat in February 2027. Attendance at the Opening Retreat is a compulsory requirement of participation. While some flexibility may be accommodated across other program dates, applicants should apply with the intention of participating as fully as possible throughout the Program.

• The selection panel uses the criteria detailed in this application. Please read each question carefully and answer it as fully as possible.
• Complete every section in full.
• Type or print all answers clearly.
• Limit responses to the available space.
• Applicants must have the support of the organisation they represent. Applicants seeking a scholarship without organisational funding may nominate themselves.
• All applications are subject to confidential evaluation.
• Each cohort is selected to reflect the diversity of our region, including people from different communities, industries, sectors, cultures, locations and lived experiences.
• Offers will be made in mid-November 2026. Program fees are payable in January 2027, prior to commencement, unless alternative arrangements have been approved.

Funding Information

Fees for the 2027 Annual Program are made up of:

• Participant Contribution: $1,250 + GST
• Placement Fee: $9,250 + GST

A limited number of co-invested placements are available, reducing the Placement Fee to $6,250 + GST where additional scholarship funding has been secured by AVCL.

If you are being supported by your workplace, please speak with your manager or relevant decision-maker to confirm the level of support they intend to provide. Where applicable, AVCL will advise if a co-invested placement has been secured.
