Professional leadership development should be accessible in place, not just in major cities. This was a consistent message we heard through conversations across the region, highlighting a gap in relevant opportunities to build capability in people leadership within the workplace.
In response, we have introduced ‘Foundations of People Leadership’, a locally delivered professional development offering for emerging and advancing people leaders, facilitated by James Jensen and supported by our Program Manager, Irene Pritchard.
The program focuses on the human side of leadership; building self-awareness, strengthening communication, and developing clarity and confidence, particularly in complex or pressured environments. It draws on contemporary behavioural science and reflective practice, with practical tools that can be applied immediately. Delivered alongside peers from across the region, it creates space to test ideas, navigate real challenges, and build strong professional networks.
Our initial delivery is now underway in Benalla, with eight participants from a range of organisations across the North East, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the capability of their people and the region more broadly.
