Adapting For The Future

Our North East Adaptive Futures Program has been underway since May, bringing together 14 participants from across the North East with a diverse range of professional backgrounds, experiences and community interests.

Supported by the North East CMA and facilitated by Chris Mirams and Dr Gary Saliba, the program explores leadership, collaboration and adaptation through the lens of the Ovens Murray Regional Drought Resilience Plan.

To date, the cohort has gathered in Bright for their Opening Retreat, and undertaken program sessions in Albury-Wodonga and Gundowring, participating in presentations, discussions and site visits. Highlights have included a tour of North East Water’s Resource Recovery Hub with Peter Westbrook, Manager Wastewater Systems & Environment, and hearing from Scott McKillop.

Next week, the group heads to the Goulburn Valley for a regional study tour, where they’ll explore real world examples of adaptive leadership, systems thinking, innovation and approaches to responding to complex regional challenges.
