Drought is not a one-off event. It is an enduring feature of regional life, impacting communities, industries, landscapes and decision-making over time.

Commencing in late August, this program brings together individuals from across Greater Hume and Snowy Valleys Councils to focus on drought policy, leadership, communication, advocacy and influence through a distinctly local lens.

Participants will engage with decision-makers, explore the policy landscape, strengthen their communication and advocacy practice, and consider the role individuals can play in influencing change. The program includes workshops, local learning experiences and a three-day immersive visit to Canberra.

• Engage directly with decision-makers, policy practitioners, community leaders and media professionals through immersive learning experiences

• Deepen your understanding of your own leadership approach and contribution.
• Participate in a three-day Canberra immersive, providing exposure to federal decision-making, policy development and regional representation
• Explore practical ways individuals and communities can contribute to local action and influence change
