Regional Leadership In Action

Our Executive Officer Madeline Hines recently attended Regional Development Australia Murray’s Regional Futures Forum. Delivered over two days, the event brought together industry, government and for purpose organisations, engaging in compelling sessions that surfaced a range of themes for now and into the future.

Bernard Salt AM brought the bigger picture into focus: the future doesn’t just happen to us, but is shaped by long-term aspiration, bold visions for change, and the people who carry that work forward. A keynote by Cathy McGowan AO reinforced this with a clear call to action for regional leaders: connect, collaborate and co-create.

Across the forum, our Alumni showed up at the heart of these efforts: RDA Murray is led by Alumni Sarimah Hellyer (Black), alongside policy advisor Werner Vogels PhD; panel facilitators included Emma Avery and Diarmuid Kelly; while Kimberley Taylor, and honorary graduate and former Board member Katie Warner, delivered as panellists.

Outside of the sessions, many more Alumni were represented in the room, demonstrating the enduring value of investing in people who contribute to the collective capability of the region.

Thank you to Regional Development Australia Murray for bringing people together to share perspectives and explore what’s possible.
