Confidence, clarity, and the courage to act

“I can honestly say that completing the AVCLP gave me the courage to make positive changes in my life.” – Michelle Critchley, 2016 AVCLP.

Since 1998, more than 500 people across North East Victoria and the Southern NSW Border region have taken part in the program – gaining the skills, confidence and networks to step forward and make lasting contributions in their communities, workplaces and beyond.

From February to November, participants take part in place-based learning days, workshops, overnight retreats, a Melbourne study tour, and online skills sessions. They visit communities across the region, engage with local leaders and decision-makers, and work alongside a diverse cohort of peers.

Through this experience, participants grow in confidence, sharpen their leadership skills, deepen their understanding of regional issues, strengthen their capacity to navigate complexity, and form meaningful connections across the region.

Participation can be supported by an employer, self-funded, or made possible through one of our generous scholarship placements. Applications will close in late September.
