Fischer Community Leadership Program

Grassroots community leadership development

The Fischer Community Leadership Program enables leadership within the community, from the grassroots up. The intent is to empower local leaders, build strong connections, and inspire positive impact within our regional communities.

The program is aptly named in honor of Tim Fischer, former Australian politician and diplomat who served as leader of the National Party from 1990 to 1999 and who called Boree Creek home.

The program is an initiative of Fischer Community Leadership in partnership with Federation and Greater Hume Councils, auspice by the Border Trust and delivered by Alpine Valleys Community Leadership.

This Program was amazing and taught me so much. I especially loved how much I learnt about myself and understood how I work best with others. It’s made me even more community minded and less intimidated by getting involved.

This program is so worthwhile; it is great for those just starting out on the journey of community leadership as well as those who have been on committees for many years. I thoroughly recommend it. It is broad, so learnings cover a lot of aspects of community leadership and understanding governing bodies better.

The Fischer Leadership program is an opportunity for participants to meet others who also want to strengthen and improve the local community, who have the passion but may lack the resources, connections and/or knowledge.

This program is tailored to our region, with specific emphasis on local community & personal development in leadership. If you are on a committee or involved with a local group or would be interested in doing so in the future, make sure you take up the next opportunity that arises. Highly, highly recommend!
