Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship in partnership with Social Traders present Social Procurement in Wodonga – the principles of social procurement and the impact its growth can have in the region.

The recent growth in social procurement in Victoria provides significant opportunities to local social enterprises and indigenous businesses as business and government are looking to increase their procurement spend to generate positive community impact.

Featured topics include:

  • Principles behind social enterprise and social procurement
  • Victorian government’s Social Procurement Framework, and its impact on Gippsland’s social enterprises, businesses and not-for-profit organisations
  • Growing Regional Opportunities for Work (GROW Gippsland) initiative bringing business, government and community organisations and individuals together to address and support disadvantage in areas of high unemployment
  • Social Traders social enterprise certification and buyer membership
